Mon Couer Red

Mon Couer RED is the ultimate statement piece that will truly be the center of attention, with striking red tones in both the coloring of the handcrafted heart cabochon to the glitter and shine of the crystals which adorn this piece around the heart and through out the necklace.

The cabochon of this piece is a handcrafted heart made from paper clay, the perfect choice for this piece to reduce the amount of weight for the necklace. The heart was then colored with multiple layers of different hues of red to produce the ultimate striking color combination for the finished piece. Five layers of resin were individually applied to the heart to achieve the smoothest finish.

The base beadwork of this piece combines right angle weave and Peyote stitch with Japanese Delica seed beads in two different red colors, which tightly hugs the heart. The heart was then embellished with three different layers of crystal beads in different sizes and colors to add additional depth of color and texture to the finished necklace. The working time for just the beadwork on this piece was over 20 hours.

The completed beaded heart hangs from a 24 inch beaded chain with a multi-strand ball chain base which is beaded with the same Japanese Delica beads and crystals used in the main cabochon.
