In my mind, creating jewelry is simply taking my larger mixed media works of art and translating those concepts and ideas into smaller, wearable pieces. Many of the jewelry pieces I have created over the years started as ‘experiments’ of techniques and materials before using them on larger projects. Creating art on this smaller scale often requires much more attention to detail than working in larger formats. Creating jewelry also allows me to incorporate my love beading and metal work, with hints of these influences found in my finished pieces.
