The Japan Hobby Show is the largest handmade and hobby show in Japan, held annually in Tokyo. This will be the third year that I will be attending the show, with demos and classes with Tsukineko. Additional classes will be taught off site the week following the Hobby Show.

I will be joining my dear friend and uber talented Japanese mixed media artist Phoebe Tonosaki for an all day workshop to be held at Eastside Tokyo. The two of us have been working on this exciting project for a few months and I can’t wait for the opportunity to teach along side Phoebe! During the first session of the class, Phoebe will guide students through the process of decorating the outside of the Treasure Box, and in the second session of the class I will show how to create the inside of the box with Sculpture Medium and adorning the Relics heart pendant.

 

Mixed Media Layers

Use your favorite Tsukineko products to create this beautiful mixed media canvas! You will learn how to layer images, then add texture and color to create the stunning background with VersaFine Clair and Deliata inks. The centerpiece features a resin frame with a metal piece, both colored and stamped using StazOn inks.
 
 

Vintage Canvas

Learn how to create a vintage looking mixed media canvas using your favorite Tsukineko products! In class you will learn how to create your own paper clay embellishment and then color with Delicata inks. This piece will be added onto the textured and layered canvas created using Amplify and colored with VersaFine Clair inks.
