Texture Paste Basics Tutorial

posted in: Art New Wave, IMAGINE Crafts | 4

I admit it – I’m addicted to using texture pastes on almost ALL of my projects. Whether I’m making a card, a new piece of jewelry or a mixed media canvas, I’ll try my hardest to work in some texture paste. And half the fun is taking it to the next step – creating my own custom texture paste mixes. Creating new colors, adding inclusions, there’s virtually no limit to what can be created! I could spend hours just making custom texture pastes!

I wanted to share with you a great video tutorial that I’ve created using Creative Medium texture pastes from Imagine Crafts. This video covers the basics of how to use texture pastes, along with exploring how to make your own texture pastes. This video is part of the updated Video Tutorial Library that you can find on my website which features other mixed media tutorials, along with many of the ICE Resin projects that I’ve created.

Some people prefer to learn about new techniques and products in person so be sure to check out my updated class schedule which includes classes coming up in Albuquerque, Southern California, Colorado Springs and the Art Is You Retreats. Most of my classes incorporate the techniques found in this video as just the beginning, and we build upon these ‘basic’ techniques to create spectacular masterpieces!

And don’t worry – I’ve been working on a few new videos that I’ll be sharing with you soon!

  1. Thanks

  2. Fun stuff, John! … would write more, but it’s time to play! 😉

  3. Love your use of bright colours. I enjoy using texture paste, not sure if we have that brand in UK, but I’ve got some other brands that I need to play with. Thanks for the inspiration.
