That’s right, it’s almost time for the CHA MegaShow 2016 in Anaheim, California! I have to admit that right after Christmas, I start getting excited about attending the show – to see reconnect with old friends, make new friends, and maybe most importantly see what’s new and how to use all of those products that are debuting at the show.
You could say that I’m kind of a CHA ‘dinosaur’ of sorts. I attended my first show in 1999, when it was still called HIA. At that time, I was a brand new retail store owner and I was beyond amazed and honestly overwhelmed at the show and didn’t know where to begin. I attended a class at the very last minute at the show after being invited by a demo artist and was hooked on taking classes from that point on. Attending a class was a game changer for me as a store owner because I took back the amazing techniques that I learned and shared them with my customers, which led to inspiration and ultimately sales. There’s so much to see on the show floor, but I am a firm believer that there is even more to gain from that hands on experience of classes and demos.
Here’s a preview of some of what I’m sharing with you at CHA this year in Anaheim…
Refreshing Techniques from Imagine Crafts
Saturday, January 9th 6pm to 9pm
This is the book cover that we will be creating in class, created by mixing custom colors of Creative Medium while using the fabulous Delicata metallic colors.
Take your mixed media techniques to an entirely new level while learning how to use StazOn Studio Glaze for a unique finish that can be used on your next art journal or canvas.
Since this class focuses on building texture, this faux leather technique will give a new look and texture to your next project.
Sometimes it’s easier than you think to build color and texture, and with this class you’ll learn just how simple it is to transform tissue paper into this stunning background.
Painting and Layering with Imagine Crafts
Sunday, January 10th 8am to 11am
Grab your coffee and wake up with this stunning canvas that you will complete in class. Besides using your favorite Imagine Crafts products, you’ll have the chance to work with Prima Marketing’s Relics and Artifacts resin pieces to incorporate into your artwork.
Relics and Artifacts Demos
What to learn how to color and add texture to the Relics and Artifacts resin pieces? I’ll be demo’ing at the Prima Marketing Booth on Sunday from 1pm to 2pm, and again on Monday from 2:30pm to 3:30pm. Stop by and be ready to be amazed at how easy it is to work with these wonderful pieces that can be incorporated into your next project!
Imagine Crafts Demos
Of course you can always see me at the Imagine Crafts booth #2401 during the show for learning new techniques – or just to say HI and catch up.
Looking forward to seeing you at the CHA Show this year!
